PUBLIC COMMENT:
The public is invited to address the Board during the meeting using the Zoom meeting information above, or from any of the teleconference locations. Alternatively, public comments can also be submitted via email to comments@scholarshipschools.org with “Public Comment for Board Meeting (on date of the Board Meeting)” in the subject line. The comment should include the name of the commenter, the Agenda Item number, and the topic that is to be discussed. Comments must be received by 12:30pm of the day before the scheduled Board Meeting and will be read during the meeting based upon time limitations. If the statement is not read online due to time limitations, the comments will be provided to the board members.
Members of the public may address the Board at regular meetings on agenda or non-agenda items that are within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Board, and at special meetings on agenda items only. Speakers may be called in the order that requests are received, with speakers attending the meeting called prior to reading written comments submitted by email, or may be grouped by subject area. Comments are limited to three (3) minutes per speaker with no more than 15 minutes per single topic so that as many people as possible may be heard. . The Board may not take any action on matters discussed during the public testimony period that are not listed on the agenda.

Organization Update
Jason Watts provided the organization update and discussed the LAUSD oversight visit report to the board at the July meeting, updates on both the Scholarship Prep - Riverside and Scholarship Prep - San Bernardino campuses, and a couple of legal updates on the SB 1380 bill and the AB 2254 bill.
Charles Friedrichs asked if the Scholarship Prep - San Bernardino campus was more ready to go than the Scholarship Prep - Riverside campus. Jason stated that San Bernardino is essentially a turn key being used by another type of school, while Riverside is a reclamation project that will most likely have a partial opening.

Charter Impact Presentation - 2024-25 Operating Budgets, EPA Spending Plans, Consolidated Applications, and 2023-24 Prop 28 Arts & Music Annual Report
Jason Sitomer provided the presentation covering the 2024-25 school year operating budgets for all school sites, EPA Spending Plans , Consolidated Applications , and 2023-24 Prop 28 Arts & Music Annual Reports.
Pete Watson asked what areas were affected with the reduction in the Orange County budget. Andrew Crowe shared that mostly non essential personnel and staff were affected. With the upcoming expansion, some personnel may be able to move to another location.
Pete Watson also asked about the security expense on the Orange County portion of the presentation, and Andrew Crowe explained that due to the location of the school and security not being preventative, it is a cost that was able to be cut.
Treasurer, John Ing, asked what the overall enrollment number for the Orange County campus was based on and if we were being conservative. Jason Sitomer said is a reduction and we are budgeting for just a hair under our current enrollment.
Jason Watts asked Jason Sitomer to distinguish between the CSP grant funds versus PCSGP funds. The Riverside site has an approved budget for the CSP grant and the San Bernardino site plans to use the public charter school grant program funding, which is a start up grant through the federal government.
Lastly, Jason Sitomer discussed the ADA shares for the 2024 - 2025 year. Orange County is projected at 39%, Oceanside at 35%, and South Bay at 26%.

Dennise Allotey provided the presentation on the LCFF Local Indicators Results for each school site. All three school sites have met each of the local indicators.

Third Addendum to Standard Industrial/Commercial Multi-tenant Lease - Gross Between Scholarship Prep Facility Holding, LLC and Newsong Community Church of Orange County
Charles Friedrichs asked for a brief explanation on why we are making this update and what it will include. Jason Watts stated that this addendum is being made because the HVAC system at the 17th street campus needs to be updated and the addendum outlines splitting the cost of the updates.
