ED Search Feedback
The Education Committee gathered feedback for the ED Search Committee.
- Leadership skills were seen as more important than some of the other skills such as STEM, Private School
- AMSA is very stable and it's important to gain the trust of the various stakeholders
- Charter School vs Private School, this resulted in mixed opinions that should be considered. It was thought to be important to understand what it means to be a Charter School, Additionally, there are very positive aspects of Private Schools specifically around their relationships with Stakeholders which is also a valuable trait.
- Try to take ego out of the search, the new ED should have AMSA as its top priority and not what it means to their resume.
- Ensure there is clarity around what AMSA is looking for at the start of the process
- Ensure that any concerns of the Search Committee are not squashed by other members of the committee
- Continue to enhance the experience of the various stakeholders (Parents, students, teachers, admin, etc.)
- The ED should drive the Vision of the School
- Understand the uniqueness of a Charter school budget
- Be an Ambassador for AMSA, and develop relationships within the Core Towns, the Mayor, and the broader community.
- Proven Track Record raising money
