Call the Meeting to Order
C. Allen called a meeting of the Academic Committee of Voices for International Business and Education to order on Tuesday Jan 13, 2015 at 5:30 PM.
II. Academic
A.
Follow-up discussion of relevance of Language Immersion in IHS program
The committee verbally agreed on the following statement: IHS will achieve a robust academic program grounded in the IB and sustained by a strong language program that allows students to be proficient in a language. We will address this in greater depth at our next meeting
III. Other Business
A.
Discussion of SPC work in relation to AC work
The committee agreed that our work should be in conjunction with the SPC and therefore, we will modify our goals for the year. It would be inappropriate for us to address the "what is, and what should be" aspects of the School Charter without direction from the STP. We will continue to discuss these issues as they are addressed through the SPC, but we will also establish additional goals at our next meeting.
