The committee discussed Expansion of IHSNO including pros and cons. Ways to Expand included:
1. Add middle school (7th-8th grade)
2. Increased number of students served in 9th-12grade
3. Add lower school (k-6)
4. Start New Charter - to design a new school, starting from a blank canvas
5. Virtual Academy 

Majority of committee members agreed that expansion would be a good idea.
--could incorporate all options with a virtual component, given Covid
--however, most members preferred adding middle school (7th and 8th grade only) 
----other options would be too expensive

Committee agreed that even though expansion with a middle school might benefit our school (earlier student engagement in the IB model, minimizing learning gaps before starting high school) the members wanted to be confirm if other families would desire 7th-8th grade expansion

--why would families send their kids to our program

The committee concluded: Use Focus Groups or Third Party to investigate the desire to add middle school (7th-8th grades). Provide committee with a comparative analysis to other middle schools with middle school IB programs.
