BOARD OF DIRECTORS

SAN ANTONIO STEAM ACADEMY

 

Items will not necessarily be discussed or considered in the order they are printed on the agenda below. If, during the course of the meeting, discussion of any item on the agenda should be held in an executive or closed session, the Board will convene in such executive or closed session as permitted by and in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code Chapter 551.

Call the Meeting to Order

V. Maner called a meeting of the board of directors of San Antonio STEAM Academy to order on Wednesday Jan 22, 2025 at 6:04 PM.

Approve Minutes

One change to the minutes to correct the meeting date from January 29, 2025 to Wednesday, January 22, 2025. Minutes were approved with correction

A. Blanche made a motion to approve the minutes from Regular Board Meeting on 11-20-24.
Y. Oden seconded the motion.

Meeting date correction on the next scheduled meeting to January 22, 2025.

The board VOTED to approve the motion.

II. CEO/Superintedent Updates

A.

Financial Reporting

Superintendent provided updates on FY2024-25 Statement of Activities as of December 31, 2024. 

 

- Currently meets standard with a C rating. Projection to get to B rating providing no changes.

Enrollment & Recruitment

Recruitment is currently at 144 - down 4 students.

 

Back with Selrico food service - kids enjoyed this company and it helps with recruitment.

Academic Performance Updates and Initiatives

Facilities & Operations

Good site visit at St Gerard. School has an abundance of class rooms that are available. Waiting to hear back from school on status on moving forward. Should feedback not be in the schools favor, there are options.

 

Should have a response by Friday, January 24th.

A. Blanche made a motion to approve changes to San Antonio STEAM academy Board Policy Manual for Admission and Enrollment.
Y. Oden seconded the motion.
The board VOTED to approve the motion.

Adjourn Meeting

There being no further business to be transacted, and upon motion duly made, seconded and approved, the meeting was adjourned at 6:45 PM.
