NOTICE OF REGULAR MEETING

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

SAN ANTONIO PREPARATORY

 

Notice is hereby given that a Regular Meeting of the Board of San Antonio Preparatory will be held on MARCH 29, 2023 beginning at 6pm. Meetings of the Board are normally held at 6127 SUMMER FEST DR. SAN ANTONIO, TX 78244.  

 

Items will not necessarily be discussed or considered in the order they are printed on the agenda below. If, during the course of the meeting, discussion of any item on the agenda should be held in an executive or closed session, the Board will convene in such executive or closed session as permitted by and in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code Chapter 551.

Call the Meeting to Order

X. Toson called a meeting of the board of directors of San Antonio STEAM Academy to order on Wednesday Mar 29, 2023 at 6:12 PM.

RECORD: Attendance

C.

APPROVE: Minutes from January 25th Regular Board Meeting

M. Harris made a motion to approve the minutes from SA Prep Regular Board Meeting on 01-25-23.
A. Blanche seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

D.

APPROVE: Minutes from December 26th Audit Presentation and Review

A. Blanche made a motion to approve the minutes from Board Meeting: Audit Presentation & Review on 12-26-22.
M. Harris seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

II. Academic Excellence

A.

ADOPT: House Bill 3 (HB3) Goals

A. Blanche made a motion to adopt District/Campus House Bill 3 (HB3) Goals.
M. Harris seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

B.

APPROVE: 2023-24 Academic Calendar

M. Harris made a motion to approve the 2023-24 Academic Calendar.
A. Blanche seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

C.

REVIEW: TTAP & Interim Assessment #2 Data

Item was tabled until the next board meeting May 2023.

D.

REVIEW: 2022 Federal Report Card REVIEW: 2021-22 Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR) REVIEW: 2021-22 STAAR Performance

Board of Directors reviewed 1) 2022 Federal Report Card, 2) 2021-22 Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR), 3) 2021-22 STAAR Performance. 

III. Governance

A.

Champion & Family Handbook Revision

M. Harris made a motion to approve the Champion and Family Handbook section 4 with modifications to the stealing section.
A. Blanche seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

IV. Finance

A.

February 2023 Financials

DSS back office provider reviewed the following board documents:

First Rating Indicators

FY2022-23 Balance Sheet

FY2022-23 Statement of Activities

FY2022-23 Statement of Cash Flows

V. Other Business

A.

School Dashboard

The Superintendent discussed the enrollment, demographics, ADA, and attrition. 

B.

REQUEST: Board member request for future agenda items

Add the Superintendents review to July 2023.

Adjourn Meeting

There being no further business to be transacted, and upon motion duly made, seconded and approved, the meeting was adjourned at 7:02 PM.
