Dear Founding Board of Trustees,

We have hit the ground running in 2023! Cary is happy to be back in the building and supporting across the school to ensure students, staff, and families are getting what they need.
 

• Our Students. Students began knew reading groups when they returned in January and we are getting ready for our next STEP round to begin next week. It is a shorter window between assessments but we are eager for fresh data to inform instructional decisions. Student recruitment efforts for the 2023-2024 school year are underway and we have 95 applications so far for 89 open seats. We will continue to push to ensure we have at least double the number of applications as we have seats available.
   
• Our Staff.  Staff returned from the break refreshed and energized. Classrooms are in great shape across the school! We are in the process of hiring a new first grade teacher and a part time social worker to meet the needs of our increases in enrollment and high numbers of special education students. We are also beginning the process of hiring for next school year and look forward to finding new staff members who will make wonderful additions to our school community.
