D. Grigaltchik called a meeting of the board of directors of Global Leadership Academy to order on Thursday Jan 21, 2016 at 5:29 PM.

GOCA’s Administrators’ Goals:
Current enrollment – 689 in the school
GOCA’s Scholastic Book Fair – January 25th – 29th
Door Decorating Contest - Doors must be Literacy related - Admin will judge doors on Friday, January 29th - 1 winner for grades K-2, 3-5, and 6-8 – based on the homeroom
K-1 Literacy Parade – Wednesday, January 27th Literacy Week Dress-Up Monday, January 25th – Crazy Sock Day Tuesday, January 26th – Crazy Hair Day Wednesday, January 27th – Dress-up Fancy Clothes Day (Dresses/skirts for girls; Suit & ties for boys) Students not participating are to wear their GOCA’s uniform. Thursday, January 28th – Hat Day Friday, January 29th – Sports Day with Jean Friday ($1 to wear Jeans)
- Increase instructional support for teachers by providing instructional coaches in Math and Reading
- Conduct formal and informal observations – checking for academic rigor and critical thinking, student engagement, collaboration, and student lead discussions
- Coaches conducting weekly Data Chats to ensure teachers are covering the Standards
- Add a middle school elective course: Orientation to Career and Technical Occupations – This course will culminate in a multifaceted Capstone Project which incorporates their Adobe Photoshop skills. If the industry certification exam is passed, then the student earns an acceleration point for the school grades.
Current enrollment – 689 in the school
- Teachers are in the process of completing the 2nd I-Ready Assessment
- Purchased USA Test Prep to provide opportunities for students to be assessed using questions formatted based similar to the FSA Assessment Student Achievement
- Second I-Ready Assessment indicates students’ gains in the double digits
- Students grades will be uploaded to the district by noon on January 22nd
- Parent/Teacher Conferences still on-going
- Honor Roll Celebration is tentatively scheduled for February 19th
- Student referrals decrease from 25 prior to the Winter Break to only 9 as of today.

Construction
School received different quotes regarding school's construction. First quote was $7,620.939.03 and second quote was $2,837,738.36 (for first floor only). Quotes are attached in the minutes. Board discussed, and in turn decided not to put the items to a vote at this time until further information can be gathered and further discussion can take place.
B.
Building Hope
School's lawyer Melisa Gross-Arnold, strongly recommended to consider alternative financial services with references to Building Hope. Board discussed, and in turn decided not to put the items to a vote at this time until further information can be gathered and further discussion can take place.

Employee Salary Chart

D.
School Partnership w/ Online Global Learning Academy
Mr. Soroka flew to California for a business meeting and is considering staring a partnership with Online Charter Academy, giving students over seas an opportunity to receive Foreign Education. Board discussed, and in turn decided not to put the items to a vote at this time until further information can be gathered and further discussion can take place.
