K-8 transferred $250,000 to Intercoastal to keep it operating. K8 received an additional $200,000 from a half cent tax that can be used for capital expenditures.

We are requesting a Charter Amendment to increase our enrollment cap to 700 students.

  E. LLC Buy out furniture/equipment from GOCA Intercoastal Vote Dmitriy Goncharov 2 m

Due to the timing of purchases of the furniture/equipment for GOCA Intercoastal, it made it ineligible for CSP grant. GOCA Properties LLC agreed to purchase all the furniture and the equipment form GOCA Intercoastal at cost. LLC will use this furniture/equipment to furnish other schools or sell it further to other vendors.

  F. Approval of Purchase of Furniture/equipment for Intercoastal Vote Dmitriy Goncharov 2 m

GOCA Intercoastal needs to purchase furniture/equipment to replace furniture sold to GOCA Properties LLC. Multiple quotes were solicited, and the school is recommending to purchase all the furniture and equipment from one vendor Blue Ocean Construction, which provided very good package for GOCA Intercoastal.

  G. Purchase of School Bus and Work van for facilities Vote Dmitriy Goncharov 2 m

The facilities department requested, if possible, to purchase a work minivan for the supervisor to drive between campuses. The estimated price is $35,000 for 2021 Ford Transit Connect cargo. Also, the bus company that we currently use to transport kids between campuses has not been very reliable. So far, no other company is willing to provide us with the same services or it will be triple the price. It would make sense to use the extra funds from Half Cent tax to purchase a school bus and hire a driver. The new buses cost around $125,000, but they are not available for a year or so. The dealer is looking for a used bust that would meet FL specifications.

  H. Uniform Sale Vote Dmitriy Goncharov 2 m

GOCA is one of the very few if not the only schools that buys uniforms and then sells them to our parents. Most schools have contracts with vendors where parents can buy uniforms directly from those vendors. GOCA solicited contracts from multiple vendors. Fine Designs was the only vendor that offered to come to our campus during orientation and first week of school to sell uniforms so it was convenient for parents. The vendor will bring their uniform and POS equipment to allow our front desk staff to sell uniforms during the school year.

  I. Speech Therapy Contract Vote Ilya Soroka 2 m

Contract Renewal for Florida Kids Therapy that has been providing services to the schools for the past 10 years. The contact is for three years. Two additional quotes have been requested from other Speech Therapy Providers to compare the rates.

  J. Student Application Deadline Extension Vote Ilya Soroka 2 m

All GOCA Schools are currently still enrolling in the grade levels that have available seats. To allow parents to submit enrollment applications for those grade levels, the application deadline needs to be extended.
