Sanga Monthly Management Report
Dr. Steven Ovares (School Principal) and Ana Ulloa (CEO, Founder) presented the Sanga Monthly Management Report. Junior Achievement visited the academy on April 21, 2023 to facilitate lessons on financial business and career literacy to students in grade kindergarten through fifth. The 8th-grade students completed the PSAT on April 12, 2023. MSTEP assessments are scheduled for the week of May 1st for grades 3rd-7th.
The parent concern previously shared with the Board of Directors regarding the special education team and school leadership has been resolved. The team is confident in the program in place for supporting the student moving forward. Madam President Cristina Stamatin is pleased with the mutual win-win for both the student and the school.
A handful of students are persistently demonstrating disobedience behaviors and not following the student code of conduct. Anytime student issues impact the safety of other students within the school community, school leadership proposes a meeting with the students, parents, and the school board to gauge the possibility of long-term suspension or expulsion from the academy. Ana Ulloa mentioned the academy is a small charter school and with that comes limited resources for the students. Sometimes therapy or additional outside services are needed to support students and families.
Joanne Formigan, the academy's previous MTSS coach, has stepped into the vacant 3rd-grade teacher position to ensure students have a qualified teacher for the rest of the school year.
"Career Day" is slated for May 18th.
